A 17-year-old youth has been charged with armed robbery after a pizza delivery driver was allegedly attacked at Riverside on Saturday night.
Police allege that the driver was attacked with a weapon while making a delivery in the Romney Street area about 6.30pm.
The driver contacted police soon after from a local business.
Uniformed officers and detectives searched the area and during a subsequent search, located and arrested the male youth at a nearby residence. He appeared in an out-of-hours court sitting over the weekend charged with armed robbery.
The pizza delivery driver sustained minor injuries, and was discharged from the Launceston General Hospital.
