Woman slashed in Logan

A woman was slashed on her chest and leg with a box cutter-style knife  as she walked to her parked car in Logan Central on Sunday night, according to police.

It is alleged a 36-year-old woman went out to her vehicle parked in the front yard at Yugumbri Crescent and was approached by a man armed with a knife about 8.15pm.

The man allegedly attacked the woman with the knife, causing cuts to her chest and leg.

The accused fled the scene in a 4WD when a 17-year-old man went to the woman’s defence.

She was transported to hospital for treatment.

Police located the man at a residence a short time.

It is alleged the man and the woman know each other.

A 46-year-old Kingston man has been charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm. He is due to face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
